Q - How many times will I travel to Brazil in this program?
A - In the Year-Long Certificate program, students spend two semesters in Brazil: summer and spring.

Q - Do I need to be able to speak Portuguese before the program starts?
A - Proficiency in Portuguese is not required to enter the program. Participating students will take online Portuguese classes and an intensive summer language immersion program in Brazil before taking classes in Brazil. Classes in Brazil will be taught in portuguese.

Q - Do I need vaccinations for going to Brazil?
A - Travelers who have recently visited certain countries, including most other Latin American countries, may be required to present an inoculation card indicating they had a yellow fever inoculation or they may not be allowed to board the plane or enter the country.

Q - Do I need a visa for going to Brazil?
A - All travelers to Brazil will need a visa to enter the country. The administration of the Brazil: Sustainable Entrepreneurship program will help you obtain the correct visa.

Q - Will I get academic credit for the courses taken in Brazil?
A - For information on academic credit for the courses taken in Brazil, please contact academic advisor Michelle Terry.

Q - Is financial aid available?
A - Financial aid is available for the following parts of the program:

Summer language immersion program in Brazil: $1,000 grant award available.
Spring study abroad in Brazil: $3,500 grant award available.
Summer internship in Brazil: up to $2,000 grant award available (depending on length of the internship).
