China has the biggest population and is one of the fastest growing economies in the world. It has become one of the most important export/import partners with the United States and one of the biggest foreign direct investment recipients in the world. To become successful business leaders in a future with a market-reformed, globally competitive and fully integrated Chinese economy, students must be equipped with the knowledge, skills, experience and perspective to work with China. This program gives them the opportunity to visit Chinese organizations and multi-national corporations and to investigate the political, economic, and social issues involved with China’s economic reforms and observe the way global and local companies take advantage of market opportunities. On-site, students will be exposed to agricultural facilities, Chinese organizations, and multi-national corporations. They will also learn how international corporations combine Chinese culture into their organizations and how they manage host country employees. Historical and cultural site visits will be made to help put this new information into perspective.
