Students participating in this program will be enrolled in BAT 300 for 3 semester hours. They will also take IM 379 for 3 semester hours and a 3 semester hour French course (course equivalency to be determined). Placement in the French course will be determined by each participant’s proficiency level. Attendance at a pre-departure orientation session is required of all participants. For the BAT 300 course, students will be responsible for online discussions about current issues in France and writing an independent research paper prior to departure. During the time in France, students will make daily blog entries to record their activities and their reactions to them. Additionally, daily attendance at classes and participation in group activities is required. Upon returning to the US, students will complete a reflection paper. The IM 379 and French courses will be taught by faculty at EFREI. IM 379 will feature a team case-study project where WIU students will team with students from other institutions and work collaboratively on a project relating to Information Technology. The French course will feature language learning as well as cultural site visits. A list of required readings will be included with the syllabus for each course. In addition the Study Abroad eligibility requirements (see reverse), participants should be College of Business and Technology majors or minors and have at least junior standing prior to program departure. Enrollment is limited to 20 participants.
