Seminars

Students participating in the Global Commerce Experience 2009 take two business seminars at Western Illinois University. One is an Economics seminar with a focus on international trade, and the second one is a seminar with an approach to Business Communication in the United States.

The seminars are taught by two faculty members of Western Illinois University. Assistant professor Dr. William Koch will teach the International Trade seminar. Dr. Koch received his Ph.D. in economics from the University of California, Santa Cruz and joined the Economics department in the Fall of 2006. His specialties are international trade, intellectual property and international economics. His research focuses primarily on technology, trade and intellectual property. Professor Koch teaches Principles of Macroeconomics, International Trade and International Economic Relations.

Ms. Rebecca Mahr, instructor in the Information Management and Decision Science department, will teach the seminar on Business Communication in the United States.
