The Office of Global Education fosters international understanding and prepares future business leaders to be successful in the challenging global economy.
Overview
As part of its mission, the Office of Global Education:
- oversees a variety of international education, professional development, and research initiatives, academic programs, student and faculty exchanges
- develops and implements educational and professional international and cross-cultural initiatives throughout the Western Illinois University service region and form international partnerships that strengthen global understanding;
- develops strategic alliances, consortia, and expands current
collaborative partnerships with domestic and international institutions,
government agencies and the business community;
- conducts multi-faceted, multi-partnership, interdisciplinary leadership development; and
- secures the necessary funding to support and expand international activities.
The Office of Global Education promotes international interaction and development by:
- identifying basic competencies necessary for the development of international business leaders;
- providing services and expertise that guide the international educational development of tomorrow's business leaders;
- facilitating the offering and development of international business
courses and academic study abroad programs;
- supporting international business research at local, regional, national and international levels; and
- achieving a global reputation in academia, government and business
as a leader in the area of international business education.
