This program will assist students in gaining a deeper appreciation for international trade currently occurring in the new North America. With the passage of the North American Free Trade Act (NAFTA), new opportunities have presented themselves for companies operating in the three countries comprising North America. The course approaches the topics from the perspective of the strategic manager who must be concerned with the impact of trade on overall company performance by analyzing both the internal and external markets. Further focus is placed on decision making that takes into account the long-term success of the organization with in the three countries and their differing cultures. The Universidad Autónoma de Chihuahua in Chihuahua, Mexico is the site of the program. This location offers the students opportunities to interact with business leaders and corporations that are simply not available in other parts of the country. Participants will also have the opportunity to learn alongside students from partner institutions in Canada and Mexico, thus adding additional viewpoints to the discussions.
