422G Maturing: The Middle and Aging Years. (3) Adjustments in middle and later years related to physical, emotional, and social changes. Emphasis on intergenerational relations, developmental tasks and problems in middle and later years.
423G The Family in a Changing World. (3) An intensive study of the American family with emphasis on the practical aspects of how families respond to the legal, economic, and social changes within society. Prerequisites: FCS 121, 321, or permission of the instructor.
426G Parenting. (3) Principles and philosophies relevant to the process of parenting with emphasis on changing roles and responsibilities, child rearing decisions, and diverse parenting perspectives. Prerequisites: FCS 121 or 321 or permission of the instructor.
427G Seminar in Human Development and the Family. (3) Study of interrelationships of all aspects of development through techniques for working with children, families, and the elderly. To include self-esteem, stress management, ethics, confidentiality, and professional conduct. Prerequisites: Twelve semester hours of child development, family life, and gerontology courses, or permission of the instructor.
450G Professional Workshops in Family and Consumer Sciences (Home Economics). (1–3) This course is intended to meet the need of pre-service and in-service teachers, paraprofessionals and others interested in the field, and is offered in the following areas: parenting, textiles, consumer education, nutrition, nutrition programs, and fashion production.
461G FCS Travel Studies. (1–6, repeatable to 6) Tours to properties, industries, facilities, and agencies in the United States and abroad which are related to home economics.
501 Nutrition for Fitness. (3) An analysis of nutrition in fitness. Topics include nutrition for various age groups; diet evaluation; interrelationships of disease states, drugs, and the environment with nutrition. Prerequisite: Graduate standing; one human nutrition course or permission of the instructor.
571 Cooperative Occupational Education. (3) Addresses the role of cooperative occupational education as vocational education. Includes program organization, implementation, curriculum development, and the role of vocational youth organizations and advisory committees.
