The School of Graduate Studies is pleased to announce that the full-time graduate/research assistant stipend has increased by approximately 3.5% from the base salary of $7,040 to $7,280 per academic year. For teaching assistants, the base salary has increased from $8,120 to $8,400 per academic year. Thus, the new monthly stipend for a full-time graduate or research assistant is $910 and a 2/3 position is $607. The new minimum monthly stipend for a full-time teaching assistant is $1,050 and a 2/3 position is $700.
Assistantship contracts have been updated to reflect the increase effective July 1, proportionate to individual awards. This increase will appear on October 1 paychecks. Assistants will be notified via email once this process has been completed. Updated contracts will not be issued, however, students may view their payroll information via the online STARS system.
All appropriated graduate/teaching assistant budget lines have been rolled forward to cover the increase.
