Graduate School Application/Admission Checklist
(for those applying to WIU Graduate School for the first time)
Domestic Students
- Access online application at www.wiu.edu/grad and click on "Apply Online". Submit electronically.
- Submit nonrefundable $30 application fee online by credit card with application or mail to School of Graduate Studies, Western Illinois University, 1 University Circle, Macomb, IL 61455 (checks payable to WIU).
- Request the registrar of college or university attended to mail (no faxes accepted) one copy of official transcript(s) in sealed envelopes directly to School of Graduate Studies, Western Illinois University, 1 University Circle, Macomb, IL 61455. WIU transcripts and any transfer work transcripts previously sent to WIU registrar will be obtained by graduate school personnel for you.
- Degree-seeking students should request one copy of ALL pre- and post-baccalaureate course work. Nondegree-seeking students should request one copy of official transcript or statement of degree from institution granting highest degree.
- Consult the checklist of departmental requirements for additional application materials and requirements. The following departments have additional application packets: Special Education; Educational Leadership; College Student Personnel; Biology; Counseling; and Recreation, Park and Tourism Administration.
