Mohammad
Ali, a WIU History grad student in
2004-05, has been teaching history at New Trier High School near Chicago
since 2005. During this time he has taught two very interesting courses:
World History (which covers Ancient times to the present) and Modern
World History (which covers modern topics/themes since the Renaissance).
He continues to enjoy teaching (and reports that he also continues to
learn as he matures in his profession). Ali writes to Drs. Bill Combs,
Larry Balsamo, and Ginny Boynton, "I have now even deeper
respect for teachers since it is very challenging work. I often think
about my time at WIU, and I always think about the kind of learning that
took place in your classes. I learned so much from you and it made me a
better learner, student and person. I gained so much during my time at
WIU and I am grateful for that."
