Students may complete an honors curriculum in University Honors, Upper Division Honors, or Lower Division Honors. All Honors students must complete the onehour honors colloquium (GH 299). Lower Division Honors includes General Honors coursework. Upper Division Honors includes honors work in the major. University Honors combines Upper and Lower Division Honors. Honors students in Communication must complete all requirements for a Communication major. Grade Requirements · 3.4 overall GPA · 3.4 GPA in honors courses Lower Division Honors Requirements · two General Honors seminars (6 semester hours), an honors section of the First Year Experience (3 semester hours) (a General Honors seminar may be substituted in some cases), and GH 299 (one semester hour). Upper Division Honors Requirements · GH 299 · 6 semester hours of incourse honors which count towards the student’s major, or 6 hours of General Honors courses at the 300 or 400 level, or a combination of the above. The General Honors courses, at the discretion of the Departmental Chairperson, may count as elective hours in the major or substitute for a specific COMM course, or not count in the major at all. · 3 semester hours of Comm 400 (Senior Honors Thesis Research). Students majoring in Communication Sciences and Disorders may substitute an additional 3 semester hours of incourse honors, or an acceptable General Honors course for Comm 400. · 3 semester hours of Comm 401 (Senior Honors Thesis). University Honors · two General Honors seminars (6 semester hours) · an honors section of the First Year Experience (in some cases a General Honors seminar may be substituted) · GH 299 · 6 semester hours of incourse honors or 300400 level General Honors courses · 3 semester hours of COMM 400 (Senior Honors Thesis Research) · 3 semester hours of COMM 401 (Senior Honors Thesis)
