The Virtual Laser Keyboard

The virtual laser keyboard is a device used with handheld devices that allow the user the convenience of a keyboard, without the hassle of a traditional keyboard.  There are no wires, or mechanical parts.  The entire keyboard system is about the size of a disposable lighter, and weighs less than two ounces.  The virtual laser keyboard projects a full sized keyboard, using light, onto almost any surface.

The virtual laser keyboard works by using lasers and infrared technology.  It produces an invisible circuit to project a full-size, fully functional keyboard onto many different surfaces.  The virtual laser keyboard detects the user’s finger movements to interpret and record keystrokes.  The virtual laser keyboard even makes typing sounds when the user taps the images of the keys.

The virtual laser keyboard comes with its own power source, so users do not deplete the batteries on their handheld devices.  The virtual laser keyboard also disappears when it has not been used for an allotted amount of time.  This device can be used with many different applications including, PDA’s, cell phones, tablet PCs, laptops, and many space saving computers.  The virtual laser keyboard can also be used in different environments including, but not limited to, a clean room, medical environments, and on transportation, such as an airplane or train.

There are a large number of handheld devices that the virtual laser keyboard can work with.  These devices include some palms, some pocket PC’s, and many others.  The virtual laser keyboards are sold for around $200.00.
