International Student Admissions and Recruitment

The Office of International Admissions and Recruitment (IAR) is responsible for the recruiting of all international students. The staff processes international student applications as part of the University Admissions Office and completes the necessary paperwork for the students to enroll at WIU.

IAR is contributing to the internationalization of WIU by expanding the number of international students enrolled in both Western's English as a Second Language (WESL) program and in on-campus courses. The diversity of the international student pool is being enhanced. By promoting WIU programs, services, and excellent educational opportunities, IAR strives to increase international student retention, completion, and graduation rates. The expansion of the recruitment program and the development of new marketing strategies are just two of the ways IAR is implementing these goals.
