A Message from the Executive Director:

Rick

Hello and welcome to Western Illinois University. Please take a close look at WIU’s beautiful campus and the exceptional educational opportunities. I believe that you will find a very caring and supportive learning environment. As the Executive Director of the School of Distance Learning, International Studies, and Outreach, I want to confirm our commitment to continuing Western Illinois University's long tradition as a global university. International Studies is one of this great institution’s strategic initiatives and one of the university's many strengths in global venues. Our commitment to international outreach can be seen within our efforts in International Admissions, International Orientation, Study Abroad, and Western's English as a Second Language (WESL) Institute. Most of all, I encourage you to picture yourself at Western Illinois University and experience first-hand the friendly, support provided by the staff, faculty, and community.

Please browse around our website and acquaint yourself with our programs and support.

Again, welcome!

Dr. Richard W. Carter, Executive Director, School of Distance Learning, International Studies, and Outreach
