Endowments, Funds, and Scholarships - Center for International Studies

AAUW International Student Scholarship Fund

This endowment was created by the Illinois State Division of the American Association of University Women to assist international students in need.

Dr. James F. Conger Study Abroad Endowment

Named after former WIU Center for International Studies employee Dr. James F. Conger, this fund assists WIU students studying abroad.

Francis and Peggy Davern International Scholarship

This scholarship, named after former WIU Elementary Education professor Francis Davern and his wife, former WIU Director of Foreign Student Affairs/International Programs Peggy Davern, supports both undergraduate and graduate international students.

Rodney and Bertha Fink International Student Scholarship

This scholarship, named after former WIU Department of Agriculture Chair Dr. Rodney Fink and his wife Bertha, supports undergraduate or graduate female students from emerging and developing countries who wish to major in Agriculture or Agriculture Business.

Ruth Hughes Scholarship

This scholarship, named after former Director of the Western Illinois University WESL Institute Ruth Marie Graham Hughes, supports students involved with the WESL Institute.

International Education Fund

This fund serves as a general fund for the Center for International Studies.

Dr. Subhash and Linda Jani Endowment

This fund, named after former WIU Professor of Special Education Dr. Subhash Jani and his wife Linda, supports an annual sports forum to promote international awareness between WIU and Macomb High School students.

Dr. In-Gon Kim Endowment

This fund, named after WIU Honorary Doctorate recipient Dr. In-Gon Kim, supports Korean students at WIU.

Bessie Myers International Student Scholarship

This scholarship, named after former WIU Department of English faculty member Bessie Myers, supports part-time and full-time international students at WIU.

Travel and Study Abroad Scholarship

This scholarship assists WIU students enrolled in degree programs at the undergraduate or graduate level who have been accepted into an international exchange or study abroad program.

Dr. Bea Wehrly Scholarship

This scholarship, named after former WIU Counselor Education professor Dr. Beatrice “Bea” Wehrly, assists students majoring in “helping professions” while studying abroad.
