Stories of India (India), December 31, 2011- January 12, 2012, REL 379 and/or ANTH 379 (3-6 hrs)

This Study Abroad Course pairs Anthropology and Religious Studies to give participants unique insights into Indian culture and religion. Studying in rural India gives participants a chance to explore these factors firsthand while experiencing the importance of nature in the development of Hinduism and Buddhism and their practitioners.
Disney World Communication Culture (Disney World, USA), March 7-16, 2012, COMM 379 (3 hrs)

Not only is the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida, one of the most popular vacation destinations in the world, it’s also a great example of effective communication by a multinational corporation. Through various tours and attractions at the resort, participants will discover the layers of non-verbal communication utilized by the Disney Imagineers.
International Health: The United Kingdom (England) March 7-18, 2012, NURS 379 (3 hrs)

This course provides participants with opportunities to learn about the British National Health Service (NHS) and the challenges it faces firsthand. Through visits to the Florence Nightingale School of Nursing and Midwifery and the Royal College of Surgeons, participants will learn about the many facets that went into creating and now maintaining the NHS.
Russian Agriculture (Russia), March 7-18, 2012, INAG 362 or BAT 300/600 (3 hrs)

Participants involved with this course will be exposed to Russian agriculture through on-site visits of Russian farms, agribusinesses, and agricultural academies.
Food Meets Fashion (Italy), March 8-17, 2012, FCS 358 or FCS 377 (3 hrs)

The destination cities, Milan, Venice, Florence, Rome, and Siena, provide a unique flavor of Italy while presenting a broad spectrum representation of fashion merchandising and hospitality. From a pasta factory to haute couture, the business site visits combine to give participants a new perspective on hospitality and merchandising practices while the cultural visits to museums and historic sites provide a basis for understanding how culture and business are intertwined.
The U.S. in the World: Crossroads of Turkey (Turkey) March 8-18, 2012 HIST 379/679 (3 hrs)

Turkey is frequently viewed as a country of historical crossroads, connecting Europe, the Middle East, and even the United States. Throughout the time in Turkey, participants will experience first-hand how modern Turkish citizens think about the United States and interact with American history and culture.
Publishing Trends: Amsterdam and Istanbul (The Netherlands and Turkey) March 9-18, 2012 BAT 300/600 (3 hrs)

This course allows participants to explore the publishing industry and its evolution over the last decade by studying the challenges of information availability and accessibility in information rich countries like The Netherlands and in developing countries like Turkey.
21st Century Broadcasting: BEA and NAB Conferences - Las Vegas April 15-20, 2012, BC 379 (1 hr)

Students will participate in the Broadcast Education Association conference held at the Hilton Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada and attend the BEA Job Fair. Participants will have the opportunity to talk with experts in the field and meet other broadcasting students and professors.

The Ethiopian Healthcare System (Ethiopia), May 15-28, 2012, HS 379/679 (3 hrs)
This course is designed to explore the healthcare system of Ethiopia as it relates to infectious diseases, nutritional deficiencies, inadequacy of essential drugs and the availability of healthcare centers and professionals through various hospital visits.
Entertaining the World: Las Vegas Hospitality (USA) May 14-20, 2012, FCS 358 (3 hrs)

Participants will explore Las Vegas, an internationally well-recognized destination in the hospitality world through visits to MGM Grand Hotel, Harrah’s, Planet Hollywood Hotels and Resorts and the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Bureau, to name a few.

Participants of this Course will visit galleries, museum exhibits and artist studios including the Museum of Modern Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Chelsea, Uptown and SoHo galleries, and others.
WISE Costa Rica (Costa Rica), June 3-30, 2012, SPAN (6 hrs)

This program offers a four-week immersion in Spanish language in culture while also providing on-site guidance and mentoring by a Department of Foreign Languages faculty member.
Recreation, Sport and Leisure of Spain: A Comparative Study (Spain) June 14-28, 2012 RPTA 379/679 (3 hrs)
Participants will travel through Alicante, Spain, a beautiful, historic Mediterranean port which is large enough to have all the amenities and facilities of a city while retaining the rural charms and the heritage of the country. Students will experience first hand the richness of Spanish culture and a wide range of recreation, sports and leisure activities including international beaches, festivals and food and craft markets.
Criminal Justice Systems in South Korea (South Korea), July 9-23, 2012, LEJA 417/517 (3 hrs)
This Course allows participants a unique opportunity to combine a concise but intensive cultural immersion experience with a comprehensive, hands-on, insider’s view of the major components of the criminal justice systems in South Korea through guided tours to the Seoul National Policy Agency, Fire Services Agency and local courtrooms.
WIU in Belfast (Northern Ireland), July 15- August 4, 2012, UNIV 379 and HIST 379/679 (6 hrs)

Based at the Institute of Irish Studies at Queen's University in Belfast, this course combines on-site classroom instruction with excursions to give a fuller picture of Northern Ireland. No matter what your major or area of interest, Northern Ireland has something for everyone.
