Graduate Students

Graduate students can study abroad!  Programs are available from ten days to a full academic year.  

 

Faculty-led programs offering graduate credit:

 

Agriculture Down Under (BAT 600, 3 semester hours) March 2013

European Business Study (BAT 600, 3 semester hours) May 2013

Galapagos Island Ecology (BOT/ZOOL 575, 3 semester hours) March 2013

Cultural Anthropology Field School in Germany (ANTH 679, 3 semester hours) May 2013

Eternal Rome (HIST 679, 3 hours) June 2013

Art in NYC (MST 679, 3 semester hours) May 2013

WIU in Belfast (LEJA 517, 3 semester hours) Summer 2013

 

Summer, Semester or Full Academic Year - Programs offering undergraduate credit may also be available for graduate credit;  additional work (e.g. an extra project) may be completed to receive graduate credit.  Please work with your department and the Office of Study Abroad to see if this is an option for you.  The following programs are a few examples where graduate credit is available.

Independent Study, Research or Internship - Graduate students can complete an independent study while studying abroad.  Please contact the Office of Study Abroad for more information.

 

Opportunities for further study:

U.S. Student Fulbright Program:  If you are considering continuing your graduate studies, conducting research abroad, or teaching English abroad, the U.S. Student Fulbright Program offers grants and scholarships.  If you are interested in finding out more about Fulbright, please contact Emily Gorlewski, WIU's Fulbright Program Adviser, at 298-2504.  The on-campus deadline typically falls in the September of the year prior to the application cycle to which you are applying.
