Course overview:

New Zealand has a rich history that has affected the global growth of the Hospitality industry. As a destination country, New Zealand has a wide array of traditions and cultures which affect and are affected by the travel industry. It also provides a deeper understanding of the role tourism plays in an international tourist resort and how the business of tourism impacts an area.

This Study Abroad Course will introduce you to the New Zealand's people, customs, cultures and history so you can better understand and appreciate the importance and issues impacting the tourism industry there. Site visits to a range of successful key tourism attractions and hospitality services such as wineries, food distributors, and hiking in a national park serve as case studies, giving firsthand knowledge of how these locations are operated.. One week of the Course will be spent at Queenstown Resort College, which specializes in Tourism and Hospitality Management.
