Bio:
Mrs. Onion is an Assistant Professor in the Information Systems and Decision Sciences Department and teaches IS 320 (Business Communications) and IS 125 (Introduction to Business).

Onion served as the WIU Associate Alumni Director from 1986-2000 where she advised Student Alumni Council, worked with the 25-member volunteer Alumni Council, coordinated numerous alumni events including Homecoming, Reunion Weekend, regional alumni meetings, the Alumni Awards Program, as well as served on the Centennial Celebration Committee.

Onion was selected as Outstanding Organizational Advisor of the Year, Outstanding Greek Chapter Advisor, and was part of the team who earned seven CASE (Council for the Advancement and Support of Education) awards, including the Grand Gold Award for Overall Alumni Programming. She was a member of the CASE District Five Conference Committee for three years serving as Newcomers Track Chair and Management Track Chair.

Onion is also an affiliate of Like Minded People (www.likemindedpeople.com), an educational consulting firm in Indianapolis, providing curriculum development programs for national Greek organizations, as well as seminars and workshops for various boards and organizations across the U.S.

Onion earned both her degrees from WIU: MS degree in College Student Personnel in 1990 and a BB degree in Management in 1985.

She and her husband, Steve, own and operate a grain and livestock farm near Industry, Illinois.
