Literacy environment Workshop.

Purpose of this workshop

This workshop provides strategies for setting up a classroom or home environment to promote early literacy. Ideas and resources for materials and activities are included.

Workshop Objectives

By the end of this workshop, the participant should be able to:

  • know the importance of environmental print
  • develop activities to increase children's awareness of environmental print
  • design classroom centers with appropriate literacy materials
  • design a home environment that encourages literacy
  • adapt materials and activities as needed
