Information Systems
The Information Systems unit administers the Voyager integrated library management system and coordinates, develops and maintains WIU Libraries' web presence. We support library unit and branch operations, serving and assisting library personnel and the patrons who utilize library systems.
The unit takes data and makes it usable, both internally and externally as it creates reports, facilitates online access to numerous bibliographic databases and information services (e.g., SFX, ContentDM), maintains a proxy server, develops customized database systems, and designs web user interfaces to enhance access to library collections and other electronic services.
The unit coordinates with Library Computer Services, University Technology, and the CARLI consortium, facilitating access to electronic resources and services in support of the Libraries' educational mission.
