Music Library Parking for Visitors
An important goal for the Music Library is to be the premier music resource for the tri-states region. We encourage use of our facilities by campus and community members. Most items in the collection may be checked out by non-affiliated patrons. However, many community users are deterred from using the Music Library facility (situated in Sallee Hall, 108) due to the difficulty of finding convenient parking. The Music Library suggests the following options to assist visitors:
- There is ample parking at the University Services Building (the old HyVee on University Drive). From there, you may take a Green Route bus to Browne Hall. These buses run every 5-7 mins from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm, Monday thru Friday, during term time. Please check the bus schedules at GoWest. This is a free service.
- Visitors intending to make an extended visit to the Music Library for research purposes may request a Visitor Parking Permit from the Music Library Circulation desk, valid for the day of issue. Parking Permits may also be obtained from Parking Services in Mowbray Hall.
- A few metered spaces are available in lots within walking distance of the Music Library: Lots to the west and south of Malpass Library, north of Corbin Hall, on Sherman Circle, to the north of University Union and Hanson Field. On street parking is available along West Adams Street west of Corbin-Olson. However, these spaces are seldom vacant when school is in session. (See the Parking Map)
- Visitors who do not obtain permits and park in restricted lots may be ticketed. However, a trip to Parking Services the same day will normally result in the ticket being cancelled.
