How To create persistent links in any EBSCO database

By using the proper syntax, you can create links to EBSCO citations or HTML Full Text. If a PDF image is available, links to the image will be available on the citation.

  1. Connect to an EBSCO database through the library website (e.g., Academic Search Elite)
  2. Find an article or citation
  3. Click on the article title to retrieve the complete record
  4. Scroll down to find the Persistent Link to the article
  5. Copy the URL
  6. Use the Link Converter to make the Persistent Link accessible to all WIU users (or copy this URL):
    • https://ezproxy.wiu.edu/login?url=
    • Example:
      • https://ezproxy.wiu.edu/login?url=http://search.epnet.com/login.aspx?direct=true&AuthType=cookie,ip,url,uid&
        db=afh&an=J0E414235086304
  7. Test! Copy/paste the new link into your browser address bar to make sure it works (remove any spaces in the URL).
