Overview of ILL Services
The Interlibrary Loan (ILL) unit works with other libraries worldwide to acquire (for WIU faculty, staff and students) items not found on Western Illinois University Library shelves. Requests can be made to us electronically via ILLiad. The Interlibrary Loan unit is located in the Leslie F. Malpass Library in the southwest corner of the second floor. The unit's hours during the regular school year (not including semester breaks, holidays and summer sessions) are:
- Monday through Friday: 8:00am to 4:30 p.m.
- Saturday and Sunday: closed
Who may use Interlibrary loan services?
- Affiliated users who may use this service are: current employees of WIU, retired faculty and staff of WIU, and active students enrolled at WIU.
- Inactive graduate students who need to finish their research project should contact Interlibrary loan for further information.
Items that maybe difficult to obtain or renew are:
- videos, DVDs, CDs, microforms
- reference, historical or genealogy materials
- items currently on reserve in the WIU Library
- entire issues of a journal
- textbooks
