Articles In Progress Workshop

MATC is pleased to offer a workshop at the 2011 conference in Minneapolis, MN for scholars and practitioners working on articles in progress in the areas of Theatre History, Performance, Pedagogy, Theory, and/or Practice. The workshop will offer the opportunity to meet in a closed session with journal editors who have read your work in advance and who will offer suggestions for improvement or on strategies for submitting to academic journals.

If you have an article you are preparing to submit for publication and would like critical feedback and advice from theatre scholars and professionals in the publishing field, please prepare an abstract of the work in progress and email it as a Word attachment by OCTOBER 15, 2010 to:

All proposals must include:

• your name
• academic affiliation
• title (identifying whether you are faculty, a student, or an independent scholar)
• contact information
• a two page abstract of the essay
• a one-page works cited

Essays for this workshop will be selected on the basis of overall clarity of the project and time limitations for the conference itself. Please look to the submission guidelines for the journals listed above as you prepare your proposal. Selected authors will be expected to submit full versions of the essays by January 31, 2011.
