Kelly Lao graduated from the University of Iowa with a B.A. in Anthropology and a Museum Studies Certificate in 2008. She has been enrolled in the Masters of Museum Studies program at Western Illinois University for a year as part of the inaugural class. While in the program, Kelly has completed an internship with the Putnam Museum of History and Natural Science where she helped with the remodeling and reinterpretation of the permanent Egyptian gallery.

Kelly plans to continue her work in exhibits at the Putnam with a temporary exhibition on Oceania. After graduation, Kelly hopes to work with an exhibit design firm or in a curatorial department that deals with anthropological collections.
