Marietta DeanMarietta Dean

Professor of Music in Voice. B.M., M.M., University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory. Additional study in France and at the Mozarteum (Salzburg, Austria), Academia Chigiana (Siena, Italy). Studied voice with Paolo Silveri, Rome; Lieder with Gerhardt Hüsch, Erik Werba and Hans Hotter, Austria. Seven years, member, Cincinnati Summer Opera Association. Solo appearances with Chicago Symphony Orchestra, St. Louis and others. Recitals and opera debut, Greece and Italy; concerts in the Midwest. Other singing appearances in the former U.S.S.R., Holland, Germany, France, Finland, Japan, Austria, and the former Yugoslavia. New York recital debut at Carnegie Recital Hall. Member of Mu Phi Epsilon, National Association of Teachers of Singing, American Guild of Musical Artists (AGMA). Lecture-recitals for the State Department in Yugoslavia (U.S.I.C.A.). In recent years, she has researched and performed music by women composers at festivals in the Midwest, on the east and west coasts, and in Alaska, Central America, Australia and Europe.
