Michael EricsonMichael Ericson

Professor of Music (Oboe) at Western Illinois University. He holds B.M. and B.M.E. degrees from the University of Northern Colorado, and his M.M. in Oboe Performance from Indiana University. Mr. Ericson has studied oboe with Jerry Sirucek, Mark Lifschey, and Kenneth Evans. He joined the faculty at WIU in 1986 and is a member of the Camerata Woodwind Quintet. He has taught music in the Colorado public schools and has performed extensively with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, Evansville Philharmonic, Owensboro Symphony, Pinebrook and The Barn recording studios. He has recorded for opus One records, is currently principal oboist with the Peoria Symphony Orchestra and is a member of the International Double Reed Society, the National Association of College Wind and Percussion Instructors and the National Music Educators Conference.
