Rebecca Abram Kreider earned the Bachelor of Music degree in performance from Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ and the Master of Music degree in performance from Indiana University in Bloomington, IN where she studied under Margaret Harshaw. She has performed soprano roles in opera houses and concert stages throughout the United States, including Opera Theatre of St. Louis, Palm Beach Opera Co., the Spoleto Festival, Washington Opera at Kennedy Ctr. , the Indianapolis Symphony under the direction of Raymond Leppard, the Bach Society of St. Louis, and the Las Vegas Philharmonic. Rebecca was awarded the Richard Gaddes Young Artist Award from the Opera Theatre of St. Louis where she served as artist-in-residence.
She has taught voice and opera at Northern Kentucky University, University of Nevada, Las Vegas, The Las Vegas Academy of the Arts, Haverford College, and Bryn Mawr College. Rebecca was the director of the Opera Theatre at UNLV and developed the Opera on Wheels touring company which brings opera and opera education to Las Vegas area schools. She has directed main-stage and touring operas, including Cosi fan tutte, Die Fledermaus, The Marriage of Figaro, and Amahl and the Night Visitors.
