Originally from Montreal, Canada, Jenny Perron began her piano studies at age four. She has participated as collaborative artist in prestigious competitions and presented recitals in Canada, the U.S., France and Taiwan. Her recitals have been broadcast on Radio-Canada FM, CBC Radio-Canada and National Public Radio on programs such as Opus:Classics Live, Tout pour la musique, Jeunes Artistes and Serie Debut. Perron performed in Carnegie Hall with Adam Pendleton (first prize winner of the National Alliance for Excellence Competition). She also performed at La Chapelle Historique du Bon Pasteur in Montreal with Frederic Bednarz(first prize winner of the Prix d'Europe competition). She played with Charles Castleman, violinist and professor at the Eastman School of Music, for the Quartet Program Music Festival in Lewisburg, PA. She and saxophonist John Vana have been recital guests at the National Taiwan College of Arts (Taipei), the University of Northern Colorado, the University of Iowa, Ball State University, and the Interlochen Arts Academy. They recently released their first CD called "The Interactive Saxophone" on the Capstone Label. Repertoire includes world premieres as well as standard repertoire from the saxophone literature.
Additionally, Perron has received scholarships and prizes from Le Conseil des Arts et des Lettres du Quebec, the Canadian Music Competition, McGill University, Eastman School of Music, le Centre d'Arts Orford, and the Johannessen International School of the Arts in Victoria, BC. She obtained her Bachelor's degree from McGill University, her Master's degree from the University of Montreal and her Doctorate from the Eastman School of Music.
