About Featured Composer
Michael Byron is a composer of instrumental music. His music is harmonically rich, contrapuntally and rhythmically complex, as well as instrumentally virtuosic. His music has been performed and recorded by such noted soloists and ensembles as Joseph Kubera, Aki Takahashi, and the FLUX Quartet.
His music has been released on Cold Blue Records and New World Records. He has taught on the Faculty of Fine Arts at York University. He was editor publisher of "Pieces", a small press devoted to the increased visibility of exploratory directions in American music.
