Constitution Day at WIU set for Sept. 17

MACOMB, IL – Western Illinois University will mark U.S. Constitution Day Monday, Sept. 17. This theme of this year's event is themed, "Foundations of U.S. Constitutional Development."

A poster session by students will be on display from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. in the University Union's Sandburg Lounge. Students will also make presentations on historical Supreme Court cases and court justices.

From noon – 1 p.m. in the University Union's Sandburg Theatre, a panel discussion is scheduled with speakers Timothy Roberts and Virginia Jelatis of the WIU history department and Rick Hardy of the Centennial Honors College. The discussion will be moderated by Keith Boeckelman, chairman of the WIU political science department.
