Annual Beerfest Celebration is Oct. 20 at The Forum

MACOMB, IL – With unique brews such as "Wild Onion Pumpkin" and "Atom Smasher Oak Aged Oktoberfest," chilled and ready for tasting, the fourth annual Performing Arts Society's Beerfest celebration opens Saturday Oct. 20 at The Forum in downtown Macomb.

The annual beer tasting event, which runs from noon - 6 p.m., allows participants to sample more than 70 specialty brews from around the world. There will also be five special release beers; one released each hour from 1-5 p.m.

The special release schedule includes:
• 1 p.m. – Founders Devil Dancer
• 2 p.m. – Rogue Voodoo Donut
• 3 p.m. – Stone Hoppy Brown
• 4 p.m. – New Holland Black Tulip
• 5 p.m. – Founders Kentucky Breakfast Stout

Admission to Beerfest is $5 for students; $10 for the public in advance and $12 at the door. Tickets for the tastings will be sold separately at the event for 75 cents each or eight for $5.

Beerfest attendees will receive a souvenir glass to use for the tastings, while supplies last. There will also be an outdoor beer garden and free snacks.

All participants must be at least 21 years old to enter the event.

Beerfest is sponsored by West Pierce Liquors, The Forum, Jimmy John's, Eric Schneider and Frito Lay. The distributors helping with the event are MarketPlace Selections and Specialty Distributing.
