Moisés Molina Faculty Cello Recital Oct. 25

MACOMB, IL - - Moisés Molina, assistant director of the Western Illinois University School of Music, will perform a faculty cello recital at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25 in the College of Fine Arts and Communication (COFAC) Recital Hall.

Molina's program includes "Epilogue," "Passacaglia on an Old English Tune" and "Ill Bid
My Heart Be Still," by Rebecca Clark, "Sonata for Cello and Piano," by Frank Bridge and "Sonata in C Major, Op. 65 for Cello and Piano," by Benjamin Britten. Pianist Min Jung Seo will provide accompaniment

Molina earned his bachelor's degree in music from Columbus State University and his master's and doctoral degrees in music from Florida State University. He has performed in the United States, Europe and Central and South America. During the summer, he performs and teaches at the Orfeo Music Festival in Italy and the St. Augustine Music Festival in Florida. Molina is a member of WIU's Julstrom String Quartet and directs the Quincy (IL) Summer Music Institute Orchestra and the IMEA District IV Junior High School Orchestra.

A native of Korea, Seo is a faculty assistant at Western, and she has served on the faculty at the North Carolina School of the Arts, the Banff Centre in Canada, and the Heifetz International Music Institute in New Hampshire. Seo has also studied at Indiana University and at Juilliard.
