John Mindeman Faculty Trombone Recital Nov. 1

MACOMB, IL - - Associate Professor John Mindeman will perform a faculty trombone recital at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1 in the College of Fine Arts and Communication (COFAC) Recital Hall.

Mindeman's program includes "Sonata for Trombone and Piano," by John Davison, "Six Variations, K. 360," by W. A. Mozart, "Suite No. 2 for Cello BWV 1008," by J.S. Bach, his original piece "Montana Variations for Solo Trombone," "Sonata Trombone and Piano," by Eric Ewazen and "The Water Witch Concert Polka," by Clay Smith.

Mindeman has performed with numerous groups including the Lyric Opera of Chicago, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Music of the Baroque, the Ravinia Festival Orchestra, The Chicago Opera Theatre, the Chicago Brass Quintet and the Millar Brass Ensemble. He has performed in Chile and Costa Rica and along side Joni Mitchell, The Three Tenors, Andrea Boccelli, Charlotte Church, Nanci Griffith, The Moody Blues, Marvin Hamlisch and Garrison Keillor. Mindeman has recorded five CDs with the Millar Brass Ensemble and two solo recordings. He received his bachelor's of music degree from Wheaton College and his master's degree from the American Conservatory of Music in Chicago.

The concert is open free to the public.
