MACOMB, IL – Carmel Catholic High School senior Martin Buckley, of Grayslake, has been selected for Western Illinois University's Centennial Honors Scholarship, which covers four years of tuition, fees and a residence hall room at the school.

High school students with an ACT score of 32 or higher and a grade point average of 3.5 or higher are eligible for the scholarship.

At WIU, Buckley plans to major in business. Buckley said he chose Western because of the academic and housing divisions of the University's Honors program.

At Western, Buckley hopes to participate in sports clubs.

In high school, Buckley was student body president, and a member of student government, the National Honor Society, NBHS, Mu Alpha Theta and the golf, tennis and volleyball teams.

After graduation from Western, Buckley is considering pursuing a master's degree in business.
