Senator John Sullivan to Speak at WIU Feb. 20

MACOMB, IL – Illinois 47th District Senator John Sullivan, a Rushville Democrat, will speak on the Western Illinois University campus Wednesday, Feb. 20 about his background in history.

Sullivan's presentation will begin at 7 p.m. in the Malpass Library and is titled, "History and the Liberal Arts as Career Preparation." The state senator, a history major at Quincy College, will speak about how his knowledge of history and background in the liberal arts has helped him in his business career and during his service in the Illinois Legislature.

This event is sponsored by the Department of History, the History Honor Society Phi Alpha Theta and Associated Students of History.

Sullivan's presentation is open free to the public.
