Faculty Workshop Planned in Three Sessions at Western

MACOMB, IL – A three-session workshop series to target reading, writing, mathematics and critical thinking will be held in February, March and April for Western Illinois University faculty.

"Essential Skills, Essential Conversations," will be held Friday, Feb. 22, Friday, March 22 and Friday, April 19, from 1-2 p.m. each day in the Sandburg Lounge of the University Union.

During the meetings, faculty members will meet to share assignments and discuss problems they've experienced in their courses. Throughout the workshop, faculty members will revise assignments or build new ones intended to address the discussion issues.

Also during the workshops, members of the WIU College of Arts and Sciences Essential Academic Skills Committee (EASC) will make presentations on topics of interest.

The workshops are hosted by the WIU College of Arts and Sciences' EASC. Faculty members from all academic disciplines are welcome to attend.
