Fun and raising money for the Special Olympics is what the Western Illinois University Color Craze 5K is all about, according to the event's organizers. Slated for 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, March 23, the Color Craze 5K will begin and end at Vince Grady Field on the WIU-Macomb campus and is sponsored by Eta Sigma Gamma and Phi Epsilon Sigma. MACOMB, IL – Fun and raising money for the Special Olympics is what the Western Illinois University Color Craze 5K is all about, according to the event's organizers. Slated for 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, March 23, the Color Craze 5K will begin and end at Vince Grady Field on the WIU-Macomb campus and is sponsored by Eta Sigma Gamma and Phi Epsilon Sigma.

According to the organizers, the focus of the event is not on speed but fun. At each kilometer, a color station will be set up where participants will be covered in color. The color is safe, natural and edible.

Open to walkers and runners ages 7 years and up, registration for each Color Craze 5K participant is $35 before Friday, March 8; after March 8, registration per participant is $50. Participants should plan to be at the event by 9 a.m. on March 23. (No pets or strollers, please.)

Registered participants will receive a Color Craze 5K t-shirt, a packet of color and entrance to the Color Craze Dance Party following the event. Register online at http://colorcraze5k.weebly.com/ or at Stipes Hall 402.
