"Four Men for Men's Health" March 6

MACOMB, IL – The Western Illinois University Employee Wellness committee will present, "Four Men for Men's Health," at 12:05 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, in the University Union Sandburg Theatre. An hour-long event dedicated to addressing men's health issues, the panel discussion will feature four speakers, including Sean O'Donnell-Brown, director of WIU's Document and Publication Services; Ron Williams, assistant vice president of academic affairs; Scott Coker, director of facilities management; and Sean Dixon, coordinator of WIU's Interpersonal Violence Prevention Initiative. Jim La Prad, associate professor of educational and interdisciplinary studies, will moderate the panel.

Each speaker will address a different topic related to men's health, including:

  • O'Donnell-Brown — "Before…? During…? After. My Experience with Stretching"
  • Williams — "The Importance of Spiritual Food: A Conversation"
  • Coker — "Keeping Healthy, Reducing Stress and the NBA"
  • Dixon — "A Rock Feels No Pain"

The presenters will answer audience questions, as well. Co-sponsored by Western's Center for the Study of Masculinities and Men's Development (CSMMD), the March 6 panel discussion is open free to the public.
