WIU Flute Studio Recital April 28

MACOMB, IL - - The Western Illinois University School of Music Flute Studio will perform a recital at 5 p.m. Sunday, April 28 at the College of Fine Arts and Communication (COFAC) Recital Hall.
Students of the studio will perform selected pieces. The program includes:
Clare Takash, a sophomore music therapy major from LaGrange, IL, will perform "Sonata for Flute and Piano," by Paul Hindemith
Junior music therapy major Danielle Schmitz of Kankakee, IL, will perform "Night Soliloquy," by Kent Kennan.
Jerry Crockell, senior music education major of Chicago, and Marina Nir, senior music education major of Burr Ridge, IL, will perform "Duo Brillant, Op. 102," by Friedrich Kuhlau.
Freshman music therapy major Janelle Gerstein of Bloomington, IL, will perform "Sonata for Flute and Piano," by Francis Poulenc.
Sophomore music therapy major Jessica Sharp of Burbank, IL, will perform "Sonatina for Flute and Piano," by Eldin Burton.
Christina Makropoulos, a senior music education major from Hickory Hills, IL, will perform "Passage," by Daniel Kelly.
Kristen Mahannah, a freshman music therapy major from Normal, IL, will perform "Suite Modale," by Ernest Bloch
Freshman music education major Taylor Stone of Coal Valley, IL, will perform "Fantaisie," by Philippe Gaubert.
Elaina Cozart, a senior music therapy major from Murphysboro, IL, will perform "Hungarian Pastoral Fantasie," by Franz Doppler.
Samantha Evans, a senior music education major from Wyoming, IL, and Kelsey Carlson, a sophomore music education major from Hoffman Estates, IL, will perform "Maya," by Ian Clarke.
Aritta Oh, Narae Joo or Jasmin Arakawa will accompany all saxophonists, except Crockrell and Nir.
All flutists are students of the studio of WIU Assistant Professor John McMurtery.
