WIU Trombone and Euphonium Studio Recital May 2

MACOMB, IL - -The Western Illinois University School of Music's Trombone and Euphonium Studio will perform at 5 p.m. Thursday, May 2 in the College of Fine Arts and Communication (COFAC) Recital Hall.

Students of the studio will perform selected pieces. The program includes:

Sophomore music business major Andrew Almete of Naperville, IL, will perform "Concerto for Trombone and Orchestra," by Launy Grøndahl. Faculty assistant Narae Joo will accompany Almete on piano.

Junior music education major Mark Kletz of Bloomington, IL, will perform "Romance," by Carl Maria von Weber. Joo will accompany him on piano.

Darin McDonald, a freshman music education major from Quincy, IL, will perform "Cameos for Bass Trombone and Piano," by Gordon Jacob.

James Flaherty, freshman music education major from Burlington, IA, will perform "Suite of Dances," by Johann Pezel. Freshman music therapy major Jayme Soule of Pontiac, IL, will accompany him on piano.

Sophomore music major Armando Mejia of Bensenville, IL, will perform "Blue Lake," by David Gillingham.

All trombonists and euphonium players are students of the studio of Professor John Mindeman.

The concert is open free to the public.
