MACOMB, IL – Faculty and staff from the Western Illinois University Libraries would like to invite members of the Western, Macomb and surrounding communities to the Library Atrium Society Donor Recognition Ceremony slated from 4-6 p.m. Thursday, July 25 in the Leslie F. Malpass Library Garden Lounge.

According to University Libraries Development Director Michael Jones, the Library Atrium Society supports the acquisition of educational resources for use by Western students in every academic discipline.

"Membership dollars help fund scholarships, sustain special collections, acquire new materials and equipment and underwrite special events," Jones explained. "The 'Gardener' level membership is the highest level of Atrium Society membership, and we are excited to honor five donors who reached that level in 2012-13."

Jones said the event will include light refreshments, comments from newly appointed University Libraries Dean Michael Lorenzen, a brief presentation by Malpass Library Nursery Supervisor Rebecca Fross and the dedication of three plants in honor of Tony Freeman and family, Ernie and Pam Codilis and Ruth Richert and her husband, Al, who recently passed away.

For more information, contact Jones at (309) 298-2356.
