CPA Review Course offered at Western

MACOMB, IL - The Western Illinois University Department of Accountancy, in combination with CPAexcel, will offer a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) review course beginning Friday, Sept. 13.

During the fall 2013 semester, the review will cover the Financial Accounting and Reporting (FAR) and Business Environment and Concepts (BEC) sections of the CPA exam. The spring semester will conclude the course with the Regulation (REG) and Audit (AUD) review sections.

The review course includes Friday and Saturday sessions with in-class instructional videos, an instructor to go over practice questions, a supplemental on-line course, review books, software and a set of flash cards. The regular price for the review is $2,000, but individuals who sign up through WIU get a discounted price of $1,495 for all four sections, or you can register for each section individually for $375 per section.

The review group meets Friday evenings from 5:30-8:30 p.m. In addition, the group meets Saturday mornings and afternoons beginning at 9 a.m.

FAR sections will run from Sept. 13 – Oct. 5 and BEC coverage runs from Nov. 1-9. The review course will begin in the spring semester on Jan. 24 with REG, and ends Feb. 15. The final review section for auditing will begin March 21 and conclude March 29.

Candidates taking an instructor-led CPA review course develop the discipline needed to successfully complete the CPA exam.
