World Strategy Congress at WIU, QC April 3-4

MACOMB, IL -- The Office of Global Education in Western Illinois University's College of Business and Technology will sponsor the first World Strategy Congress Wednesday, April 3 and Thursday, April 4 as part of a Higher Education Cooperative grant from the Illinois Board of Higher Education.

Mikhail V. Gratchev, head of the department of management and senior research fellow at the Russian Academy of Science in Moscow, Russia will speak at 3 p.m. Wednesday, April 3 in Stipes Hall 121. This lecture, "Differences and Similarities in International Management: Culture Sensitive Corporate Strategies," is co-sponsored by Spoon River College. He will travel to Moline Thursday, April 4 for a 5 p.m. presentation, co-sponsored by Carl Sandburg and Sauk Valley colleges, at the WIU-Quad Cities campus. Both lectures are open free to the public.

Gratchev has a distinguished career as an educator in Russia and is a contributing editor to MRAG, published by the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the board of directors of the International Leadership Association.

"This is an excellent opportunity for students, faculty and community leaders to learn from an expert in international management issues," said David Beveridge, dean of the College of Business and Technology. "In today's world, it is extremely important that we recognize and can adapt to cultural differences."
