Honors College, Libraries to Host Constitution Day Sept. 17

MACOMB, IL – The Western Illinois University Centennial Honors College and University Libraries will host Western's annual Constitution Day celebration from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17 in the Leslie F. Malpass Library Garden Lounge. The theme of this year's celebration is: "The Constitution and Freedom of the Press."

The celebration will include:

  • 12-1 p.m. faculty panel discussion, Malpass Library Garden Lounge. The panel will include: Kimberly Rice, assistant professor, political science dept.; Mahrya Carncross, instructor, University Libraries; Yong Tang, assistant professor, English and journalism dept.; and Roger Sadler, professor, broadcasting dept. Keith Boeckelman, chair of the political science dept., will serve as moderator for the discussion.
  • 11 a.m.-1 p.m. student poster session, Malpass Library, second floor.

The panel discussion and poster session are open free to the public.
