Timely Warning: Sexual Assault [4:05 a.m. 9/15/13]

MACOMB, IL -- Western Illinois University Office of Public Safety Lt. Tom Clark has issued a notice to the campus community regarding a reported sexual assault on the Macomb campus during the early morning hours of Sunday, Sept. 15.

A student reported to OPS at 1 a.m. Sept. 15, that between 12:10-12:16 a.m. while walking down the steps between the University Union and Knoblach Hall, she was approached from behind by a white male and black male, and sexually assaulted. The males are described as slim, with a muscular build, between 6'-6'3". There were no other identifying characteristics given. No weapons were reported. The incident is under investigation.

The Office of Public Safety reminds the campus community to report suspicious activity immediately. Individuals with information about this incident should call Public Safety at (309) 298-1949, Macomb police at (309) 833-4505 or Macomb Area Crime Stoppers at (309) 836-3222. Individuals can also send information to the Macomb Police Department's anonymous Text to Tip service by texting the word MPDTIPS along with the information to CRIMES (274637).
