MACOMB, IL – Prospective college students interested in pursuing business-related degrees in accountancy, human resource management, management, marketing and supply chain management can now complete classes at Black Hawk College and transfer immediately to Western Illinois University.

The new 2+2 agreements between BHC and WIU allow students the opportunity to complete general education and related courses at Black Hawk and then complete a seamless transfer to Western's campuses in Macomb or Moline to complete a bachelor's degree.

"Western Illinois University is committed to facilitating the best transfer experience possible. This latest partnership with our community college partner Black Hawk College provides yet another accessible option, and a smooth transition, for individuals who want to continue their education," said WIU Admissions Director Andy Borst.

According to Borst, the 2+2 program allows students to complete their freshman and sophomore years at one of Black Hawk College campuses in Moline or Kewanee to earn the appropriate associate degree and transfer to Western to complete a bachelor's degree.

"We commend BHC's faculty, staff and administration for providing invaluable assistance with this most recent agreement with Western and the College of Business and Technology," said WIU College of Business and Technology Dean Tom Erekson. "It is essential that higher education be accessible, and cooperative programs such as this make it easier than ever for transfer students to obtain a four year degree."

The new 2+2 agreements expand upon other recent agreements between Western and Black Hawk College, including reverse transfer and dual enrollment agreements, which continue to provide a seamless learning opportunity, Borst added.
