Student Development Office: Assistance for WIU Students Affected by Nov. 17 Tornadoes

MACOMB, IL -- As a result of the Nov. 17 tornado outbreaks in the central Illinois region, Western Illinois University students from the affected areas, who may be in need of assistance, should contact the Student Development Office (SDO).

The Student Development Office, 301 Seal Hall (east wing), is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. The office can be contacted by calling (309) 298-1884 or emailing SDO@wiu.edu. Students in need of counseling services may contact the University Counseling Center, 102 Memorial Hall, at (309) 298-2453.

Updates regarding donations and clean-up and recovery efforts can be found at https://www.facebook.com/cistormhelp and http://cistormhelp.com.

In addition, it is possible that National Guard and military reservists will be called to active duty to assist with recovery efforts in the Peoria area. WIU students who are activated to help with this emergency should contact SDO so instructors and other administrative offices may be notified.
