Scanlan Awarded Centennial Honors Scholarship

MACOMB, IL – Platteville High School senior Mattea Scanlan, of Platteville, WI, has been selected for Western Illinois University's Centennial Honors Scholarship, which covers four years of tuition, fees and a residence hall room at the school.

High school students with an ACT score of 32 or higher and a grade point average of 3.5 or higher are eligible for the scholarship.

Scanan said she will likely major in chemistry at Western.

At Western, Scanlan said she hopes to participate in orchestra, choir and cross country.

In high school, Scanlan participated in cross country, track, musicals, Model United Nations, dance, orchestra, band and choir.

After graduation from WIU, Scanlan plans to get a job related to chemical research and development.
